COMPETITIVE

U8-U12 Development Program

The U8-U12 Development Program is an 11-month (November - September) development competitive program for boys and girls players and is the youngest development pathway age group for the ASC Player Development Pathway. The focus of the program will be player development in a fun and rewarding environment, while introducing and cultivating competition, while emphasizing proper skill acquisition and training techniques. This development curriculum follows the 4 corners of development. (Technical, Tactical, Psychological/Social-Emotional/Physical)

ASC players train throughout the year in a player pool system within each age group as training groups. The player pool system allows for an optimal practice environment and flexibility in open roster selection. This allows for better learning opportunities on a week to week basis to adjust and flow with players' individual areas of development. The pool system also allows for roster adjustments to be made ensuring that the appropriate level of competition is achieved at any point during the season.  The team system will be identified in schedules as RED-NAVY-BLACK-WHITE

The ASC teams will participate in two to three festivals (memorable events) per season. All teams are trained by appropriately licensed and certified, professional club coaches to provide the players with the best possible foundation of skills and knowledge of the game.

ASC teams are formed after players participate in formal assessment and observation sessions led by ASC Directors and Staff Coaches. These sessions can be found under the trial section of our website and generally occur during the months of September and October. All players interested in playing in the ASC development program must attend these observation sessions each year.

Team training occurs, at minimum, twice weekly with games on weekends in winter and week nights in summer. Additional training opportunities are available under our Programs section on the website.

Player attendance at all training sessions and games is expected in all ASC Competitive Programs and an overview of our programs can be found under the age appropriate page under the Competitive Tab.
