Ajax Soccer Club offers programming and leagues for players U9-U12 in our Learn to Train age groups.
Learn to Train continues to follow the Physical Literacy and LTPD model and 4 corner approach to learning. ASC house league recreational program includes activities for a portion of the 1 hour session that will include topics in technical, psychological/mental, physical, social emotional, and tactical. These elements will be led by an Learn to Train Facilitator and games will be ran by Game Leaders and Volunteer Coaches.
We strive to continue to have players spend individual time with the ball at this stage of development as it pertains to the progression of players from U9-U12. This is one of our most important age groups as it aims to form lasting impressions of the sport on players and also leads into research based experiences of sport drop out. With those statistics and research based elements documented we aim to provide a safe, challenging and fun environment where all players are given the opportunity to develop their skills in an enjoyable atmosphere led by enthusiastic player centered and focused staff for the duration of programming.
Recreational to Development Bridging Program
As mentioned this is an important age group as ASC spends time bridging the gap and exposing players to both the recreational and development stream based on the needs of the players. What this means is Development Coaches and Technical Staff will perform on site visits to observe players in recreational streams to incur interest and potential additions to our Development Player Groups. This is important as it defines the ASC culture as a long-term process of developing, recognizing and affording players the best environments for their soccer needs. This also represents the opportunity for players working in various player groups to be placed based on ever changing factors such as ability, age, size, emotional and social maturity, and other important grouping factors to consider.

Generally, sessions will not be cancelled by the Ajax Soccer Club unless the field is closed by the City or Police, The City of Pickering or The Town of Ajax due to inclement weather.
Field closures will be posted on our website on the home page. Decisions will be made with the Town of Ajax or The City of Pickering, and approximately 2-3 hours prior to an event. You will also receive an email from the club indicating that soccer is cancelled, but it is your responsibility to check the website & email.
Rain alone does NOT constitute bad weather. Games could be cancelled due to lightning, field conditions – including flooding, extreme heat or cold.
In the event of any cancellation(s) beyond the club's control, we will do our best to reschedule only ONE missed day. As these issues are beyond the club's control, there will be no refunds issued for missed days.
